Metsä Board recognised for transparency on climate change and water security

Metsä Board has been recognised for leadership in corporate transparency and performance on climate change and water security by global environmental non-profit CDP.

The firm has secured a place on its annual ‘A List’. Based on data reported through CDP’s 2023 Climate Change and Water Security questionnaires, Metsä Board is one of a small number of companies that achieved a double ‘A’ – out of 23,000 companies scored. In the Forest questionnaire Metsä Board scored an A-.

“We have ambitious sustainability targets including 100% fossil free production and raw materials, and reduced process water use by the end of 2030,” said Mika Joukio, CEO of Metsä Board. “In our wood supply, we promote regenerative forestry practices. The high score in CDP assessments year after year is great recognition of our systematic work.”

This is the eighth year Metsä Board has achieved the position on the CDP Climate A list and CDP Water A list.
