AMCOR has announced the launch of a ‘versatile and more sustainable’ closure for vinegar, sauces and dressings.
The Moderna Flip Top tamper-evident (TE) closure has been designed to meet growing consumer expectations for convenience and improved sustainability. The solution features a recycle-ready mono-material one-piece construction, which can be recycled where appropriate collection facilities exist.
Amcor added that its lightweight design helps companies comply with plastic packaging regulations by reducing material usage. For consumers, the Moderna provides controlled pouring or dispensing of products. The closure is designed for a 29/21 neck finish and is available in a variety of orifice sizes sizes.
A visible seal confirms the product has not been previously opened. This safety feature is integrated within the flip-top lid, allowing one-handed actuation, while the TE tab is captured within the closure body after opening to reduce the risk of being lost in the waste stream or spilt into the environment. With a snap-on application, Amcor said the Moderna ensures a secure seal and simple integration with PET bottles.
The bore seal safeguards product freshness, and the closure is available in a range of standard colours.
Matthias Hammersen, VP sales, Amcor Global Rigids Packaging Solutions, said, “With the Moderna Flip Top TE closure, we’ve created a lightweight design that combines functionality, customer convenience and recycle-readiness, supporting the circular economy while providing improved usability for a wide range of applications.”
