New features tipped to light up London show

Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London returns to Olympia, London on September 13 and 14. This year’s event will feature a new seminar format for its keynote theatre schedule and a new packaging design summit

ORGANISERS of the two-day Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London event say they “can’t wait” to see the end result of some of the changes they have planned for this year.

More than 150 suppliers have signed up for the show, which vows to bring together senior decision makers and buyers looking to “revitalise their packaging, increase brand awareness, and boost sales”.

The likes of Aegg, DS Smith, Havi Global Solutions, James Cropper, Neenah Paper, Schur Star, Kurz, M&H Plastics and Dapi will be showing off their latest products and innovations.

James Drake-Brockman, divisional director of Easyfairs’ packaging portfolio, said, “We are delighted to be returning to London’s Olympia to host Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London 2017. I can’t wait to see some of the big changes we have in store come to fruition. We have been working closely with our Ambassadors Group and the industry to create new and exciting content that our visitors want to see. Plus, we will be welcoming more first time exhibitors than ever before, adding to the level of innovation already on show.

“We continue to attract the best and brightest from within the sector, reaffirming our position as the number one place to discover the latest industry trends and solutions that are flooding this dynamic market.”

New features already confirmed for this year include a new seminar format for the keynote theatre, which Easyfairs said will allow more focus on “core vertical markets” such as food, drink, beauty and luxury.

A Packaging Design Summit will also be launched, run in association with the Pentawards, a global competition concerned with packaging design.

Visitors will be presented with a “series of interactive features” which organisers said will enable them to  receive expert advice on some of the major industry challenges. This will include the Innovation Showcase, Innovation Wall and the Packaging Consultancy Clinic.

Paul Farmer, managing director of returning exhibitor Wade Ceramics, said, “The 2016 show was better than we ever could have expected. There was such a high calibre of visitor to our stand, which was incredibly exciting.”
