Radnor Hills, the independent water and soft drinks bottler, has ordered a Makro Labelling RFL 12 roll-feed labeller. The new labeller will be installed into an existing line and will feature Makro Labelling’s unique ‘Plug & Play’ hot melt applicator for reel fed plastic labels together with a second inter-changeable labelling station for the option to apply cut and stack paper labels. The filling line at Radnor Hills currently fills 330 to 500 ml PET bottles of Radnor’s own range of flavoured waters, together with a number of contract customers. This is the thirtieth roll-fed labeller that Makro Labelling have supplied since they acquired ABL last year. Richard Portman, Managing Director of Makro Labelling UK said, ”The Makro RFL is ideal for co-packers as it offers total flexibility having the capability to run both reel fed plastic film and ‘cut & stack’ pre-cut paper labels, in this case at speeds of up to 14,000 b.p.h. Makro are the only labeller manufacturer to offer this system on their standard modular machine platform, which offers substantial savings at the time of purchase and has the inbuilt flexibility for any label substrate. As marketeers change their minds as to how they want their products to look on-shelf, our system offers the peace of mind to bottlers that they are not going to be stuck with a labelling machine that becomes outdated. The price of film or paper labels can play a big part in their decision to use one or the other and this system takes the headache away.”
