Yorkshire Packaging Systems, a leading supplier of shrink wrapping equipment in the UK (currently celebrating its 35th year of trading), has recently installed a semi-automatic sleeve sealer and shrink tunnel into the Middlesex-based factory of The Fresh Olive Company. A prominent supplier of fresh olives to the catering industry and to retailers, The Fresh Olive Company is known for its commitment to ethical practises.
The equipment supplied by YPS allowed them to wrap a variety of multi-packs of olives in a shelf-ready format. The sealer and tunnel supplied were two separate units, allowing for a modular easy upgrade path, with the sealer easily upgraded to a higher speed automatic able to cope with an anticipated higher volume. The benefit to The Fresh Olive Company of shrink wrapping has been an increased throughput at a much reduced cost compared to a cardboard solution.
