With sales expanding rapidly, US Olive Oil supplier Pompeian needed to upgrade the labelling capacity of one of its lines in Baltimore and after careful evaluation, decided to purchase a 14-head Makro Mak 3 labeller. The PUA4 L2 machine is being supplied with Makro’s patented optical orientation system. Massimo Manzotti, general sales manager of Makro Labelling said, “We are delighted to receive this prestigious order for the leading brands of the Pompeian portfolio, the company prides itself on unrivalled products and the bottle dress has to match the same exacting standards. We received the order through our North American Agents, Newmapak, who will be supporting Makro Italy with all the after sales and support once the machine is delivered in the early part of the year.” Privately owned Pompeian is the fastest growing brand of extra virgin olive oil in the US and with its affiliates, Pompeian is the number one importer of olive oil, importing over 40,000 metric tonnes annually from the Mediterranean region and South America.
