Serac is now offering complete lines that include packaging distribution, filling and capping functions linked through a starwheel positive transfer system. This offers advantages over accumulation conveyors. The first line equipped with this integrated unit, which was developed in cooperation with Lanfranchi and employs the latter’s Star Block technology, is being installed at a leading cosmetics company. It achieves a speed of 18,000bph for 60ml bottles with efficiencies equaling those of standard lines with accumulation conveyors. The transfer system is based on a starwheel with variable pitch, which automatically compensates for the difference in pitch between the dispensing and filling functions.
