Cornish Natural Spring has installed a 24-24-8 bloc to fill ½-litre, 1-litre and 2-litre round PET bottles for still and carbonated water. Indeed, it was the first company in the UK to do so with machines manufactured by Zhangjiagang Huanyu Beverage Machinery Co Ltd. To date, the equipment has not missed a beat, according to Richard Portman and Mike Hill who have now become the UK and Ireland agent – trading as Chinese Bottling Machinery Suppliers Ltd. They have just secured a second order, this time for an 18-18-6 rinser / filler / capper to fill 330-ml, 500-ml, 750-ml, 1-litre and 1.5-litre round PET bottles. The machine is set up with a standard 28-mm cap plus sports variant. The latest unit will be filling both still and carbonated water together with some flavoured waters and soft drinks. The new bloc is being installed onto an existing line and is being supplied with 2 metres of air conveyor on the in-feed to the bloc and 5 metres of slat conveyor at the out-feed.
