Contract packer Mintons Good Food, based in Powys, has installed a combined weigher and bagging machine from Italian manufacturer PFM Packaging Machinery to handle a range of snack products in bags of 25-100g. The ZC2 machine was bought, says Mintons’ managing director Roger Watkins, to improve presentation of the stand-up four-side-seal packs produced for a number of major brands as well as well as Mintons’ own range of Hungry Dragon savory snacks. The ZC2 is a combination of the PFM ten-head C2 weigher mounted directly on the PFM Zenith entry-level bagging machine. With no gantry, floor space requirements are reduced and drop height shortened, which reduces risk of product breakage.
