FOOD packaging specialist Faerch has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, outlining the company’s sustainability progress.
Last year, the firm managed to continue to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and introduced new packaging innovations designed for greater recyclability. Faerch also tripled renewable energy and scaled the consumption of its CIRPET+ material from recycled pots, tubs and trays.
“We remain committed to offering our customers circular solutions,” said CEO Pernille Lind Olsen. “As an integrated recycler and converter, we are uniquely positioned to deliver low‑carbon, high‑quality solutions at scale. This protects customers from market volatility, supports their decarbonisation journeys, and enables them to make credible, independently verified sustainability claims.”
Highlights from the report include a reduction in total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 20% across the full value chain compared to 2022, including a 40.4% reduction in Faerch’s own operations. Renewable energy now accounts for 23% of Faerch’s total energy consumption, while the firm delivered 22,000 tonnes of CIRPET+ material from its Cirrec recycling facility, with a target to reach 50,000 tonnes CIRPET+ by 2030.
Farech also achieved recyclability by design across 94.3% of its packaging solutions, by weight. Innovations include the built-in absorber structure in trays and the PET Hot Cup Lid with up to 85% post-consumer recycled content.
