Infrastructure project complete at East Kilbride bottling plant

Coca-Cola bottling plant in East Kilbride

A major infrastructure project has been completed for Coca-Cola at its East Kilbride bottling plant.

Morris & Spottiswood delivered the £390,000 project, which involved the construction of a new dock leveller to improve speed and efficiency of vehicle loading and unloading operations.

The works required a combination of demolition and new-build elements, including area preparation, blockwork permanent formwork construction, and the casting of a new raised concrete slab and ramp. Structural steelwork was installed to support the new loading bay, alongside framing and external wall cladding.

Delivered within a live operational environment, the works were planned to ensure minimal disruption to day-to-day activities at the site.

Paul Beaton, development director at Morris & Spottiswood, said, “This project required close coordination and careful delivery within a fully operational manufacturing environment. By combining our structural, civils and building expertise, we were able to deliver a practical solution that will enhance operational efficiency at the East Kilbride plant. We are proud to have completed our first project for Coca-Cola and look forward to developing the relationship further.”
