HUNTER Luxury has unveiled The Regency Collection, which it said is designed to spark inspiration and provide a creative foundation for packaging designers.
The range consists of three items: a vanity case, a cosmetics pouch, and a drawstring purse, also known as a reticule. Hunter explained it draws from the style and setting of the Regency era, but also includes a ‘contemporary edge’ inspired by period dramas.
Patterned powder-blue slub satin and gold detailing combine the feel of the Regency era with the elegance seen in modern interpretations of the period.
The drawstring purse uses a gold braided strap complete with ‘era-appropriate’ tassels; the cosmetic bag features a gold zip with a pearl-effect puller; and the vanity case includes a soft-touch lining and internal mirror.
“For me, the colours and the print are what stand out most,” said Amanda Wakeling, product inspiration manager at Hunter Luxury. “Drawing on the Regency era, with its silks, rich colours, and elegant garden motifs, we’ve used powder-blue shades and a delicate wisteria print to evoke the period’s aristocratic refinement – while keeping the look contemporary and wearable for today’s beauty consumer.
“The items themselves also reference the era. The little drawstring purse can be worn as a crossbody – those were called reticules in the Regency period, when women used to carry these delicate silk purses when out promenading. That felt like a nice historical reference. And the vanity bag and cosmetic bag are all little luxuries with an aristocratic elegance, so we added a small pearl to the zip puller because pearls are very reminiscent of that era.
“It’s all about elegance and classical femininity, translated for modern audiences rather than TV adaptations. We looked at what women valued in fashion at the time and then viewed it through a contemporary, glamorous lens.”
Every element of the Regency Collection can be tweaked and tailored to meet specific requirements. The products can also be supplied as-is for white-label applications.
