STORA Enso has launched Ensovelvet, a new packaging material for luxury applications including cosmetics and perfumes.
The solution features an uncoated solid bleached sulfate (SBS) board with ‘velvet-like smoothness’ on both sides and has been designed to meet demand for natural and renewable solutions in luxury packaging.
The bright SBS board is said to provide an enhanced sensory experience while ensuring ‘excellent’ printability. Stora Enso said it is especially suited for cosmetics packaging, perfumes, and other high-end applications where touch and appearance are equally important.
Ensovelvet complements Stora Enso’s Ensocoat board. Both are recyclable, while the absence of coating in Ensovelvet also means fewer materials are needed in production.
