DOMINO Printing Sciences has teamed up with the Advanced Services Group (ASG) on a new whitepaper that explores how suppliers can better support fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturers in navigating future challenges.
The research presents insights from a study conducted with FMCG businesses and industry experts from diverse sectors and geographies. It identifies how suppliers can help manufacturers respond to mounting pressures in an increasingly unpredictable landscape.
Dr Kawal Kapoor, lead researcher, ASG, said, “As the factory of the future takes shape, we believe that our ongoing research offers suppliers a grounded view of how customer expectations are changing and how to adapt, respond, and lead through the opportunities of the decade ahead.”
As FMCG manufacturers contend with labour shortages, sustainability pressures, and a growing need for digital capability, the role of suppliers is said to be shifting. The research, commissioned by Domino, demonstrates how suppliers must evolve to become ‘agile, customer-focused partners capable of delivering integrated, service-led solutions that drive long-term performance’.
Kate Rattigan, senior product manager – advanced services, Domino, said, “The FMCG factory of the future will look very different. Our work with the Advanced Services Group is helping us understand what really matters to our customers and is shaping the way we think about new service development, ensuring we continue to design and deliver future-ready solutions that meet real-world needs.”
Key themes identified include the increasing value of flexibility, the shift from products to services, and the need for suppliers to offer outcome-based models that prioritise uptime, performance, and peace of mind.
