Nominations sought for Plastics Industry Awards 2025

Plastics Industry Awards 2025

ENTRIES are now open for the Plastics Industry Awards 2025, with two new categories this year in the form of Polyurethane Innovation and Sustainable Extrusion Technology.

Companies and individuals from across the UK and Republic of Ireland plastics industry are invited to enter online at: www.plasticsawards.com. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Friday 21st November.

“As the Plastics Industry Awards enter their 24th year, we continue to celebrate innovation, excellence, and sustainability within our industry,” said Matt Barber, global events director at Crain Communications. “This year’s awards reflect dynamic advancements and diverse contributions from across the UK and Eire’s polymer sector. Our thanks go to our Platinum sponsors Engel UK and Distrupol and Gold sponsors Hasco, Meusburger, Interplas and PlastikCity for their generous support for the plastics industry’s highly coveted, respected and looked forward to awards.”

The new Polyurethane Innovation Award focuses on the development of sustainable, high-performance materials and solutions, using renewable resources and improving recyclability, while aiming to reduce the environmental impact of this widely used material.

The sustainable use of plastics is a core consideration for the judging of all awards, while specific categories designed to recognise sustainability and recycling include Recycler of the Year, Recycling Machinery Innovation, Material Innovation, Sustainable Product Design and Sustainable Extrusion Technology.

The Sustainable Extrusion Technology Award is an opportunity for companies to showcase their creative technological capabilities or novel applications where these are combined with a commitment to sustainability and demonstrate the broad potential of plastics extrusion technology today.

The individual awards include the Apprentice or Trainee of the Year, which carries a prize of £500 donated by the Polymer Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMMDA), the Unsung Hero award, and Plastics Industry Ambassador. One of the most sought-after awards remains the Processor of the Year trophy. There are supplier partnership awards for Injection Moulding, Toolmakers and Auxiliary.
