ANTALIS Packaging has appointed packaging technologist Todd Smith to the newly created role of automotive solutions manager.
Todd has been part of the design team at Antalis’ Smart Packaging Centre since joining the business in 2018. During that time, he has worked with clients in the automotive supply chain, creating packaging solutions for a range of challenges.
Antalis said the creation of the new role indicates the firm’s commitment to supporting this key UK industry, adding that Todd has developed extensive understanding of the needs and challenges of automotive businesses. The business revealed Todd has been ‘instrumental’ in helping to find solutions, whether it’s creating packaging to prevent metal parts rusting in transit, devising closed-loop reusable packaging, or reducing the volume of packaging materials used.
Todd said, “My background in design and innovation means I can give customers insights into possible packaging solutions to their challenges quickly. This might include anything from crates and foams to void fill and flight cases, and, of course, bespoke solutions. I’m really looking forward to supporting customers with my packaging design know-how and expertise.”
Chris Liddell, packaging director at Antalis, added, “Todd has proven to be a real asset to us here at Antalis Packaging as well as to the numerous automotive and other clients he has supported over the past seven years. His new role will enable him to work more closely with clients in this sector, ensuring that they are able to increase efficiency, reduce waste, protect heavy or fragile items in transit, or resolve whatever packaging challenge they might be facing.”
