THE British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) has announced it will host an Industry Insight Hub at Packaging Innovations & Empack 2025, designed to provide guidance and support on a range of ‘critical’ industry topics.
The Hub is an opportunity for businesses to engage with specialists and gain insights into areas such as health and safety, human resources, compliance, environmental regulations, and workforce development.
The Industry Insight Hub will have a team of experts on hand to deliver advice on issues including the latest environmental legislation such as the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). Attendees will also have access to information on new employment legislation, strategies for up-skilling the workforce, and industry advocacy efforts aimed at shaping a supportive policy environment.
“We’re excited to be leading this initiative at Packaging Innovations & Empack,” said Meeka Walwyn-Lewis, head of marketing and operations at BPIF. “As the industry continues to evolve, businesses face an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. Our goal is to provide the guidance and solutions they need to remain competitive, compliant, and forward-thinking.”
Walwyn-Lewis added that a major focus of BPIF’s work is on workforce development.
“As the largest supplier of apprenticeships in the printing industry, BPIF has a strong track record in up-skilling both new entrants and existing staff. By offering bespoke training programs and short courses, we equip businesses with the talent and expertise to thrive in an ever-changing market.
“Our commitment to fostering a well-trained workforce is further supported by our extensive networking opportunities, including regional and national events, special interest groups, and focused roundtables and webinars.
“In addition to our business support and training services, BPIF plays a crucial advocacy role. We work closely with government and regulatory bodies to ensure that the interests of our members are represented at the highest level. Through engagement with policymakers, we aim to shape legislation and regulations that support the ongoing growth and sustainability of the print and packaging industry.”
