DW Reusables launches ‘game-changing’ solution for drinks sector

Retail ready return packs

DW Reusables has launched a ‘game-changing’ retail ready return packs solution tailored for the drinks industry.

Following a test pilot for six-packs in collaboration with Carrefour Belgium and the beer brand Cornet, DW Reusables revealed it is now taking the innovation a step further.

The new system offers a solution that is said to accommodate all pack sizes — four, six, and eight — and every bottle size. With the capacity for rebranding to align with marketing needs, each return pack is equipped with unique identifiers (UIDs) designed to enhance tracking, inventory management, and customer experience.

For retailers, the return pack system aims to streamline operations by improving labour efficiency and simplifying inventory management through UID integration. For breweries, the solution is said to eliminate the need for substantial investments and frees up warehouse space. They can also enjoy a higher return rate of empty bottles and lower sorting costs.

Paul Baeyens, CEO of DW Reusables, explained, “We are thrilled to introduce our retail ready return packs, a solution that not only enhances operational efficiency but also significantly contributes to our sustainability goals. By eliminating one-way secondary packaging, we are taking a substantial step towards a circular economy in the beverage industry. This innovation reflects our commitment to providing environmentally friendly solutions that benefit the entire supply chain, from breweries to retailers and end-consumers.”

The innovation is being showcased by DW Reusables at BrauBeviale this week.
