VEGWARE has appointed Tom McKenzie as its sales manager for Ireland as the Edinburgh-based company looks to increase its share of the Irish market.
Tom will support Vegware’s customer base, identify new business opportunities, and provide guidance on circular solutions for Vegware packaging.
With over two decades of industry experience, working with recognised names such as Bunzl and Henderson Foodservice Ltd, Vegware said that Tom has developed a strong reputation for delivering profitable growth and excellent customer service. His expertise will be vital in strengthening Vegware’s position in the Irish market, particularly amidst a changing legislative environment, the firm added.
Tom said, “I am looking forward to contributing to the company’s mission of promoting compostable packaging within the foodservice industry. I am excited about working with and supporting Vegware’s existing Irish customers to deliver growth.”
With the European Council’s provisional agreement on the packaging & packaging waste directive, Tom’s first opportunity will be providing Irish foodservice with Vegware’s Nourish moulded fibre products – a range of home compostable takeaway boxes and tableware with no-added PFAS.
Vegware’s sales director, Rob Standen, said, “It’s great to have Tom join our team. He knows the Irish market and its needs like the back of his hand. Having his depth of knowledge will be invaluable when we launch more home compostable innovations for Ireland later this year.”
