1kg packs of Mini Eggs go viral on TikTok

WAITROSE has revealed that sales of a 1kg sharing bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs are up 95% compared to this time last year.

The retailer said the surge in purchases is believed to be driven by TikTok, with videos highlighting the size of the packs receiving millions of views on the platform.

A TikTok video on the chocolate treat created by Waitrose’s Saffron Walden store attracted 3.3 million views, whilst an independent content creator attracted over 180,000 comments on their video showcasing the size of the packs.

Jane Goodson, confectionery buyer at Waitrose, said, “Customers go crazy for Mini Eggs at Easter and the popularity of the sharing bag last Easter was phenomenal. So by popular demand, we have brought it back for the second year in a row, increasing our order – so more customers will have a chance to stock up.

“Whether they’re being gifted for Easter, or being added to your delicious bakes, these eggs are a certified hit. Stocks are limited though, so get cracking!”
