Test Valley Packaging teams up with Planet Mark to fast track net zero goals

TEST Valley Packaging (TVP) has announced the firm has teamed up with Planet Mark to achieve its sustainability certification by 2029 as part of the company’s commitment to reaching net zero earlier than government-mandated targets.

TVP explained it will measure greenhouse gas emissions via Planet Mark’s three categories. The results of these measurements will certify full supply chain emission transparency.

Planet Mark is a business certification that helps organisations integrate environmental standards into their broader sustainability strategy. Eden Project-backed Planet Mark undertakes an impact analysis, breaking firms’ emissions down into component parts so that they understand the impact on the environment.

Jerry Steedman, director at Test Valley Packaging, said, “Committing to Planet Mark will see TVP benchmark future sustainability pledges, emissions targets and green goals against data-driven, science-based targets to hit those goals annually as the company works towards 2029. TVP has already modernised its headquarters and production facilities with green, sustainable technologies, including installing solar panels and electric vehicle chargers. The company also sources all its energy from certified green suppliers.

“As a responsible packaging supplier, we recognise the impact our products can have on the environment and we are dedicated to minimising it. We believe in reducing waste and conserving resources by using eco-friendly materials, promoting recycling, and reducing our carbon footprint.

“This certification is validation for all that ethos and hard work, like the Fair-Trade quality mark, it is a trusted certification and that means our customers can have peace of mind that we practice what we preach, and they’re getting the best sustainable packaging products from us.”
