TIPA has completed the acquisition of compostable packaging specialist Bio4Pack.
Bio4Pack will complement TIPA’s offering for the compostable industry as its European end-applications solution provider.
Customers will now be able to purchase from TIPA three new products: paper packaging from agricultural waste, trays and nets.
TIPA explained the move will also benefit customers with additional sales representatives in the Netherlands and Germany, as well as local warehousing facilities. The firm added that the acquisition aligns with TIPA’s strategy of collaborating with ‘industry leaders’, expanding both geographically and in product portfolio and promoting sustainable solutions.
TIPA develops and manufactures flexible compostable packaging that turns into compost within a few months. The packaging is said to mimic the high-end properties of conventional plastic packaging but leaves zero waste behind.
Daphna Nissenbaum, CEO and co-founder of TIPA, said, “There is a great value and strength in cooperating with other players in the sustainable packaging solutions industry. The acquisition of Bio4Pack enables us to expand our existing expertise and portfolio and continue to grow TIPA’s custom packaging solutions.”
Patrick Gerritsen, Bio4Pack CEO, added, “It is an honour to be acquired by TIPA, as this company is well-known throughout Europe – and around the world – for their innovative packaging. With both’ companies extensive experience in this field, I am confident we will be able to significantly reduce plastic pollution on Earth.”
