THE Label Makers has revealed details of a project it embarked on with start-up spirits business, the Adventurers Drinks Company, which recently launched its first two products.
The vision of former engineering boss turned ocean rower and entrepreneur, Phil Kite, was to launch a company in recognition of the historical connection between adventuring and drinks organisations.
Both gin releases – Peak Baggers Gin and Rowers Gin – were produced in Orkney, with labels produced by The Label Makers.
Inspired by a friend of the founder, whose determination to challenge herself in outdoor activities and champion gender equality through mixed-gender teamwork, Baggers Gin embraces its backstory with a flavour that comes from the botanicals found on Britain’s mountains and peaks.
Rowers Gin, meanwhile, is said to draw its inspiration from the founder’s love of rowing. It has been created on the foundations of juniper and coriander, together with angelica and citrus that reflects its rowing backstory, with a flavour coming from the botanicals found on riverbanks, coasts and seas.
In producing the labels, The Label Makers explained that it printed each design on uncoated textured woven material. Both labels incorporate gold foil embellishments, together with a silkscreen varnish.
Phil Kite said, “I decided to use The Label Makers having found their website and admiring their work. As a first-time buyer, they took time to explain everything to me, finally producing stunning labels for each release – the labels will certainly help make the products stand out in what is a crowded market.”
Ben Robinson, sales director at The Label Makers, added, “We thoroughly enjoyed putting these two labels together and we wish Phil every success for the future in both his adventure and business pursuits.”
