OVER 400 people gathered at Silverstone racetrack to celebrate the best of the flexographic industry at an anniversary awards ceremony for FIAUK.
The event was hosted by Vicki Butler-Henderson, a motorsports racer and host of Channel Five’s Fifth Gear with Strictly’s Alan Dedicoat also joining the proceedings.
The Print Awards bring together companies from across the flexographic industry to highlight print quality, efficiency, innovation, sustainability, and technical development.
Attendees celebrated the winners and had the chance to network alongside high-performance cars at a drinks reception in the track’s pit lane before dinner.
FIAUK chairman Andy Wilson praised the developments across the flexographic world in recent years, stating that ‘this year’s awards are an ongoing testament to this performance, with quality improving every year’. He added, “The future for flexo is positive and I am extremely proud of the work we have done, and continue to do at FIAUK, to support our fantastic industry move forward.”
This year’s awards received more entries than ever before. Smurfit Kappa led the overall winners’ tally with 21 awards in total.
Roberts Mart and Co won the most gold awards with five gold accolades, three silver and three bronze. Roberts Mart also won the Best in Show award with its packaging for Galaxy Brownie Mint Mix 360g. Smurfit Kappa Inspirepac placed second with its Tesco Meal for Two packaging, and Reflex Label Plus took third with its label for Los Gansos wine.
Supplier of Year went to Contact Originators for the third consecutive year. Jim McCormack from VCG-Connect won the award for the Outstanding Contribution to the Flexo Industry whilst Vince Ward of Smurfit Kappa took home Student of the year.
The 2022 Gala Dinner was held in support of UNICEF – Children of Ukraine.
