CORRUGATED packaging manufacturer Durham Box has announced it been awarded a AA grade BRC certification for its site in Bishop Auckland, Co Durham.
Under the revised issue 5 of the BRC Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials, the firm explained that an AA grade is ‘one of the highest awards’ a business can achieve within the certification scheme.
Durham Box occupies a 120,000 sqm site in the north east of England, employs 95 staff and makes in excess of 40 million products per year.
The firm explained that the BRC certificate streamlines the supplier approval process and makes it easier for suppliers to the food manufacturing sector to meet the requirements of the BRC Food Standard, while also helping retailers and manufacturers adhere to their legal obligations.
MD Dan Morris said, “As with all businesses, maintaining a BRC certification involves a great deal of hard work from all employees. Achieving a AA grade shows that we deliver the highest possible standards in all that we do and provides reassurance to our customers that our products are made in a safe, quality-minded environment that complies with all relevant legislation.”
