DataLase sales director announces retirement

Mike Toner

DATALASE has announced that director Mike Toner is retiring from his role as sales director following a career spanning 50 years in the ink industry.

Having first joined DataLase in 2016 as new business development manager for Europe, Mike’s previous experience included various technical sales roles in the ink sector, with over 20 years at both Aarberg Druckfarben and SICPA.

A former printer with knowledge of the packaging industry, acquired during his time working in sectors including food and drink and pharmaceuticals, Mike has seen many technological changes ranging from the introduction of the very first UV offset litho ink to the UK, to the photonic printing solutions at DataLase.

He said, “I’ve witnessed and been part of a fast-moving industry that has taken giant leaps forward in terms of technology over the years. My time spent latterly with DataLase has been highly rewarding given the uniqueness of the solution. It has been particularly enjoyable to develop new markets and launch new products and I wish the company the very best of success in the future.”

Moving to a new home in the Mediterranean with his wife, DataLase revealed Mike is looking forward to a warmer climate with plenty of opportunities for children and grandchildren to visit.

Paul Dustain, DataLase’s CSMO, added, “On behalf of everyone at DataLase, I thank Mike for his knowledgeable contribution to the business. We wish him a long and healthy retirement.”
