Robbie Mackenzie – Customer Technical Services
How long have you been with Berlin Packaging UK and what are your industry experience and accomplishments?
I have worked at Berlin Packaging for three years in the Customer Technical Services Team. With over 30 years of experience in the packaging industry, I have a wealth of experience in ROPP caps and capping machinery. I am one of the original members of the Scottish gang at Berlin Packaging UK and I have been with the company since the days when there were only six of us in Scotland. I now specialise in capsules, corks, ROPPs, capping machinery and many more.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is being out and about meeting the lovely customers we are supplying to. I enjoy helping a variety of clients. Each customer has different requirements and looks for lots of different things, for example, corks, capsules and glass. I am passionate about helping solve customer issues – whether it is product or machinery-related.
Hobbies/interesting facts
I enjoy keeping fit and I am a regular trail runner. I recently completed a few marathons all over the UK – The London and Sheffield marathons to name but a few!
One of my most challenging milestones to date was when I successfully finished the Big Sur Marathon in California. 26 miles through the hills and redwoods is no mean feat. I am also a big fan of American football and have coached in the past!
Favourite positive affirmation
In my previous role, I completed a World-Class Improvements Manufacturing training course as a past work project – this involved maintenance and production. The key training takeaways have been engrained in my memory and mentality – my goal in life is to always strive for improvement!

How long have you been with Berlin Packaging UK and what are your industry experience and accomplishments?
I am the Technical Director at Berlin Packaging UK. I recently celebrated my 7th work anniversary! I have over 30 years of in the industry – a wealth of experience in the packaging and spirits sector and have worked with many multinational companies throughout my career.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is the diversity of the role – my day to day varies and I believe there is never a dull moment! I enjoy helping customers through every single challenge. For example, solving decoration issues, such as labels not sticking to the bottle. The people at Berlin Packaging UK are what makes my working day as I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with our friendly team and meeting people from different walks of life.
Hobbies/interesting facts
I enjoy spending time with family and frequently go and watch my Grandson play football – despite getting drenched in the lashing, Scottish rain! One of the proudest things I own is my atlas map where I locate pins on destinations I have travelled to, and on places where I am still yet to visit! I recently ventured to Venice for the Christmas holidays and I am currently planning my “2022 Travel List”! Alongside this, I love walking, cooking and I am also a big fan of the pictures!
