THE board of the European Flexographic Industry Association (EFIA) has announced its annual awards event will now be held online on September 17 rather than at the planned location in York, due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation.
Neil Jones, EFIA chairman explained, “Clearly it’s a frustrating time for everyone but the health and safety of our industry is our primary concern. While we originally sought to move our event date back, it’s now clear that social distancing is likely to continue long into the year. We’ve therefore taken the decision to get proactive now and provide a great online experience to celebrate the shortlisted and winning entrants this year, rather than cancel.”
Debbie Waldron-Hoines, consultant CEO added, “We have been in touch with all of our partners and members, who have been incredibly supportive of the idea. All gala event tickets sold are now valid for next year’s event, which I’m delighted to announce will be held on Thursday May 20th 2021, at the original planned location of York Railway Museum.
“In addition, access to this year’s online experience will be given to all those who booked for this year’s event, as well as anyone who would like to join us in celebrating ‘the best of the best’ in flexo. We hope our amazing industry will meet online with us to recognise the outstanding talent, quality and innovation we have in the UK flexo industry.”
