CONSUMER goods giant Unilever is to deliver a keynote speech at the inaugural Sustainable Packaging Investment Summit this summer.

The Sustainable Packaging Investment Summit takes place in London on 11 July and intends to connect innovators and start-ups in sustainability with investors, consumer brands and packaging companies, with the aim of developing more sustainable packaging solutions.

Frederic Dreux, global packaging R&D leader for Unilever Prestige Brands will be discussing the necessary relationships between brand owners, inventors and manufacturers to bring the solution needed to tackle the sustainability challenge.

With much of Frederic’s work involving disruptive innovation scouting, organisers said the summit is a ‘fantastic opportunity for brands and retailers to meet the innovators who will aid them in tackling the industry-wide plastic waste problem and get them closer to meeting their sustainability targets’.

Other speakers at the summit are to include Andrew Griffiths, head of value chain sustainability, Nestlé UK&I; Bridget Croke, VP, external affairs, Closed Loop Partners; Arjune Shukla, investor, Circularity Capital; Tom Szaky, CEO, TerraCycle; and Jurgita Girzadiene, sustainability manager, Smurfit Kappa.

The summit is also running the Sustainable Packaging Disruptors Showcase, where ten start-ups will get the opportunity to present their innovation on the main stage. Companies can apply for the showcase here.

Registered delegates will also be able to book up to nine private meetings on the day, using the summit’s networking platform, Meeting JOJO.
