Laser and coding giant establishes UK presence with Halo acquisition

LASER coding, marking and scoring systems specialist Macsa ID has set its sights on the UK market after acquiring Bedfordshire-based Halo Lasers.

The Barcelona-headquartered manufacturer has rebranded Halo Lasers to Macsa ID UK and will continue to operate from premises in Shefford. As well as existing Halo laser units and workstations, the business will also supply the full range of Macsa ID Fiber, YAG and CO2 laser coding and marking kit.

Neil Greatorex, managing director at Macsa ID UK said, “Since its inception in 2012, Halo Lasers quickly established itself to be a major provider of industrial laser systems in the UK. The significant investment made by Macsa ID will take the business to the next level and enable Macsa ID UK Ltd to be a full service provider of coding and marking solutions for a wide range of industries.”

Macsa ID is one of the largest companies in the laser and coding sector, with a sales and service network spanning more than 80 countries. The business has offices in Spain, China and Malaysia as well as its new UK base.

The firm invests more than 8% of its revenues in R&D every year and, In 2017, achieved double digit growth for the 9th year in a row.
