Tennent’s Lager “celebrates the liquid on the inside” with new can design

TENNENT’S Lager has unveiled its new can design.

The new cans, which will be available in 330ml, 440ml and 568ml can formats, are set to hit the shelves in May.

Designed to look like a glass of beer, the new can takes inspiration from the “iconic pint that’s loved by Scottish drinkers”, Tennent’s said. The can also features the story of the lager’s provenance, detailing founder Hugh Tennent’s journey to Bavaria where he learned about pilsner style beer.

Rhona Fyfe, brand manager at Tennent’s Lager commented, “For drinkers in Scotland and abroad a pint of Tennent’s Lager is truly iconic, and we’re taking that image as the inspiration for our new cans. The design celebrates the liquid on the inside, which remains the same refreshing lager that was first brewed in 1885.

“We pride ourselves on brewing at Wellpark, using the finest quality ingredients as founder Hugh Tennent created over 130 years ago. This story now take pride of place on the can, highlighting the history, quality and provenance of the liquid inside.”

The brewer is also to roll out a number of new stock keeping units, including a 5-litrre mini-keg, 6x330ml fridge pack and an on-pack promotion on 15x440ml packs, which gives consumers the chance to win a personalised Tennent’s Lager pint glass.
