UK-based corrosion prevention and protective packaging specialist Technology Packaging has been acquired by Turkish firm Desi Kimya.
Technology Packaging, headquartered in Middlesex, helps manufacturers of metal components to protect goods against corrosion during storage and transport. Customers of its TechCorro brand include foundries, forges and suppliers in the automotive, aerospace and medical sectors.
Desi Kimya has more than 40 years of experience in corrosion prevention and moisture control. It will combine its experience in manufacturing Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) solutions and desiccants with Technology Packaging’s UK market knowledge, client relationships, supply chains, and technical expertise.
The acquisition also provides Technology Packaging with access to Desi Kimya’s portfolio of corrosion and moisture protection solutions, including products supplied under its TRUGUARD protective packaging brand. This will support further development of TechCorro.

Desi Kimya manufactures its own VCI masterbatch to produce protective polyethylene film. This means Technology Packaging can now draw upon in-house manufacturing and testing capabilities. This increased control means the business can offer customers a ‘complete packaging solution’.
