Loma to highlight breadth of inspection portfolio at PPMA Show 2026

INSPECTION equipment specialist Loma Systems will be demonstrating technologies spanning metal detection, X-ray inspection, checkweighers and combination systems at PPMA Show in Birmingham next month.

Recognising that no single inspection technology is right for every product or production line, the manufacturer revealed it will use the exhibition to help firms understand the most appropriate solution for their individual application. The stand will showcase how factors including product characteristics, packaging materials, production environment, hygiene requirements, and quality objectives can all influence the choice of inspection system.

The equipment on display will highlight the breadth of Loma’s offering, from compact systems for packaged products and hygienic combination solutions for demanding washdown environments, to X-ray equipment developed for pumped and free-flowing applications.

Visitors considering X-ray inspection will be able to explore three different solutions from Loma’s X5 Series. These include the X5DE Space Saver, which uses Dual Energy technology and multi-level algorithms to improve the inspection of complex and mixed-density products; the X5C compact X-ray inspection system which is aimed at manufacturers working with restricted line space or seeking an alternative to metal detection; and the X5 Pipeline, designed for the inspection of pumped and free-flowing products such as poultry, meat, slurries and sauces.

Loma will also demonstrate its latest metal detection and checkweighing capabilities through a CW3 RUN-WET combination system featuring IQ4M technology. The IQ4M combines Variable Frequency and Multi-Spectrum detection technologies to improve contaminant detection while reducing false positives. Integrated with checkweighing in a hygienic RUN-WET format, the system is designed to support manufacturers operating in high-care environments with frequent, intensive washdown requirements.

Ralph Mbanefo, UK & export sales & service director at Loma Systems, said, “PPMA gives us an important opportunity to show that the right inspection solution starts with the application, rather than with a particular technology. Our customers are under increasing pressure to improve productivity, maintain food safety and reduce operating costs, and we can point out to visitors to our stand how the right combination of inspection technology and lifetime service support helps achieve all three. Loma’s strength is our ability to support the complete production line with metal detection, checkweighing and combination systems, and then continue supporting that equipment throughout its working life.”

Carl Wilkinson, UK service manager, added, “Reliable product inspection depends on much more than the day a machine is installed. Our service team works with customers to prevent avoidable downtime, keep their equipment performing correctly and provide their operators and engineers with the knowledge they need. At PPMA, visitors will be able to speak directly with our service specialists about the right combination of service cover, preventative maintenance, genuine spare parts, training and equipment upgrades for their site.”
