COVERIS has achieved RecyClass Recycled Plastics Traceability Certification at Level 2 for three sites in a milestone for its commitment to transparency and circularity in plastic packaging.
The RecyClass Recycled Plastics Traceability Certification recognises robust systems that allow recycled plastics to be accurately documented and followed through the production process, from verified waste origin through to finished products. It provides independent assurance that recycled materials are responsibly sourced, precisely tracked through the supply chain and incorporated at clearly defined percentages, enabling reliable and credible product claims.
The newly certified sites, supplying primary, secondary and tertiary packaging for sectors including food, beverage, pet food, home and personal care and transit, are located in Firminy and Montfaucon in France, and in Louth. Each site met the stringent requirements of the RecyClass audit process and demonstrated compliance with EN 15343 and ISO 22095 standards.
The RecyClass Traceability Certification is issued by RecyClass, a cross-industry European initiative that sets recognised standards for plastics recyclability and recycled content, supporting practical progress towards a more circular plastics economy.
Nikolaus Wolfram, chief operating officer at Coveris, said, “This marks another important step in confirming the transparency and high standards we apply to the use of recycled materials. With four of our sites now holding RecyClass certifications, we are demonstrating that our use of recycled material supports quality, traceability and accountability across our supply chain. These achievements reinforce our position as an industry leader in high performance flexible packaging with recycled content and support our ambition to help close the loop in plastic packaging, aligned with our No Waste sustainability strategy.”
Sarah Willis, quality improvement manager at Coveris, added, “Achieving three further RecyClass certifications across our sites in France and the UK clearly demonstrates our commitment to integrity, operational excellence and robust quality management. The extensive independent auditing process challenges us to maintain leading processes and drives continuous improvement across our operations. These certifications are a significant achievement and reflect the dedication of our teams to excellence and sustainability.”
