A new compact side seam gluer developed for short-run corrugated box production, sample work, rework and jobs that are still commonly hand-glued has been launched by Boxmaker.Pro.
The SSG1600 is targeted at sheet plants, box makers, and packaging producers looking for a practical way to improve consistency and reduce labour on straight-line side seam applications, without tying up a main folder-gluer for smaller or more awkward jobs.
The machine is available to view and test at Boxmaker.Pro’s Wiltshire demo facility. Customers can send sample blanks, photos, drawings or dimensions for a suitability check, with demonstrations available either in person or by video.
Simon Needham of Boxmaker.Pro said, “There are still a lot of awkward short-run and hand-glued jobs in the market. The SSG1600 is intended to give box makers a simple, affordable way to handle those jobs more consistently without overcomplicating the process.”
Typical applications include short-run straight-line side seam work, samples, rework, specials, overflow jobs and applications where a consistent glue line is needed but a larger folder-gluer may not be the most practical option.
