AMCOR has expanded its solutions for the drinks market with a new 38mm handle for PET containers.
The new development features a strong grip and targets water and other non-carbonated beverages.
The handle fits bottles with a 38mm neck and is compatible with the Proxima Tethered Closure and other beverage closures from Amcor. It is suitable for large PET containers of up to 10 litres. Amcor said that when the handle is combined with the closure, the result is a 34.5% saving in weight compared to the 48mm version. It also incorporates retention tabs to hold it to the neck securely and tightly.
“This new 38mm handle comes at the right time, with more consumers demanding water or non-carbonated beverages in container sizes of between 5 to 10 litres,” said Uli Kobert, product line manager – beverage closures & home care triggers at Amcor. “It’s a solution that is convenient for the consumer and makes it easier to carry.”
Drivers for the growing 5-10 litre market include bulk purchasing for the home, office or camping.
