Plastics Recycling Show Europe gears up for 10th anniversary

THE 10th edition of the Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRS Europe) returns to RAI Amsterdam next week on May 5-6.

The exhibition and conference will bring together the global plastics recycling value chain – with over 500 exhibitors from across Europe and the wider world filling the RAI’s two premier halls, 1 and 5.

The two-day conference opens with a keynote address from Jessika Roswall, European commissioner for environment, water resilience, and a competitive circular economy, alongside Ton Emans, president of Plastics Recyclers Europe. Their session, From Crisis to Competitiveness: Re-Building the European Plastics Recycling Industry, will set the tone for discussions across the event.

The conference programme will run across two theatres and feature more than 70 leading speakers. It combines keynote sessions, panel discussions and technical presentations covering policy, innovation and market developments.

Ton Emans, presidents of Plastics Recyclers Europe, said, “Market pressures and policy uncertainty are putting the entire European plastics recycling value chain under heavy strain. In times like these, collaboration and unity are essential. PRS Europe is where our industry comes together to confront these obstacles, share practical solutions, and strengthen the partnerships needed to make plastics truly circular. This year’s gathering is more vital than ever.”

Marking its 10th anniversary, PRS Europe reflects a decade of rapid industry transformation. “What began as a focused industry gathering has grown into the world’s largest plastics recycling event, while retaining its original focus. That is a testament to the innovation and commitment driving this sector forward,” says Matt Barber, global events director at Crain Communications.

A key highlight of this year’s event will be the AI Innovation Hub, showcasing the latest artificial intelligence applications in plastics recycling. The feature area will provide an immersive journey across the value chain from feedstock and product design to collection, processing and material sourcing.

Live demonstrations will include advanced swarm-robot sorting technology from Antfarm, featuring its Swarm Alpha fleet and next-generation Beta system capable of significantly higher throughput through rapid individual object sorting. Visitors will also be able to interact with a phone-based AI material analysis tool from Safi that scans and analyses recycled PET bales in real time.

Organised jointly by Crain Communications and Plastics Recyclers Europe, PRS Europe is designed for professionals involved in plastics recycling and the circular use of plastics. It brings together machinery suppliers, recyclers, waste management companies, material producers, compounders, brand owners and industry associations to showcase innovation, share best practice, network, and do business.
