Labels manufacturer celebrates ocean plastic prevention milestones

Clean-up operation to prevent plastic pollution in the ocean

AHEAD of Earth Day 2026, label manufacturer A4 Labels has reflected on the impact of its ongoing partnership with Seven Clean Seas.

To date, the firm’s sponsorship has supported the removal of 3,311kg of plastic waste from the ocean, all cleared from the Indonesian coastline — one of the regions most affected by marine pollution.

The partnership, which forms part of A4 Labels’ Eco-Pledge, is also said to have delivered environmental and social impact on the ground, thanks to: 16 beach clean-ups sponsored; 18,488 metres of coastline cleaned; 58 hours spent cleaning; and 162 days of employment funded for local communities.

“We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved so far with Seven Clean Seas,” said Charlie Hawker, MD of A4 Labels. “Earth Day is a moment to reflect, but also to push further. Removing over three tonnes of plastic from our oceans is a milestone, but it’s only the beginning of what we want to achieve.

“As a coastal business, protecting the ocean is something we feel strongly about. Through our Eco-Pledge, we’re committed to ensuring that every order contributes to a cleaner, healthier planet.”

A spokesperson from Seven Clean Seas added, “Partnerships like the one with A4 Labels are essential in tackling the global plastic crisis. Not only are they funding critical clean-up operations, but they’re also helping to create stable employment in coastal communities most affected by plastic pollution. The impact goes far beyond the environment—it’s about people as well.”

The clean-up operations funded by A4 Labels focus on intercepting ocean-bound plastic, restoring coastlines, and supporting local economies through fair-wage employment.
