COVERIS has announced it has received approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its near-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets.

The validated targets commitments to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 54.6% by 2033, from a 2023 base year, and to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 32.5% within the same timeframe.

“This validation reinforces our responsibility to act now across all scopes,” said Fiene Száki, group sustainability director of Coveris. “It highlights the importance of data-led decisions in building a circular future for packaging. Our No Waste vision goes hand in hand with measurable climate action.”

To support these targets, Coveris revealed it is implementing a group-wide transition plan, outlining steps to reduce emissions at every level – from operational efficiency and renewable energy sourcing to value chain collaboration and product innovation.
