A B Graphic International (ABG) has launched its Integrated Nonstop Unwind solution, designed to enable continuous production for either blank web converting or pre-printed material converting.
The firm said the system delivers splice registration accuracy of ±2mm and is built around ABG’s unwinder and butt-splicer sub-assemblies.
Fully integrated into the converter’s control platform, the product aims to simplify operation while delivering a reduced footprint, saving over three metres of floor space compared to a conventional standalone nonstop unit.
The Integrated Nonstop Unwind can be used on Digicon Series and ABG converters running 330, 440 and 540mm web widths, with wider-web compatibility under evaluation. When paired with a Vectra turret rewinder, ABG added that it creates a nonstop configuration that allows converters to maintain ‘peak efficiency with minimal interruption’.
Matt Burton, global sales director at ABG, said, “Converters are under increasing pressure to do more with fewer operators, while still maintaining output and quality. The Integrated Nonstop Unwind has been developed using proven ABG technology and, when combined with our automation and matrix stripping solutions, allows customers to run for longer without interruption. It’s a practical solution that improves efficiency, reduces operator involvement and helps converters get the most from their finishing lines.”
