Conference agenda announced for Plastics Recycling Show Europe 2026

Busy conference session at trade exhibition

THE outline conference programme for the Plastics Recycling Show Europe has been published ahead of the event’s return to the RAI Amsterdam on 5-6 May 2026.

Jessika Roswall, European commissioner for environment, water resilience and a competitive circular economy and Ton Emans, president of Plastics Recyclers Europe, will deliver the opening keynote entitled From Crisis to Competitiveness: Re-Building the European Plastics Recycling Industry.

Marking the 10th anniversary of the event, the two-day programme will take place across two conference theatres, combining keynote sessions, panel discussions, technical presentations and sponsored sessions covering policy, innovation and market developments.

Figures already confirmed to speak include:

  • Kristin Geidenmark Olofsson — raw material leader recycled polymers, IKEA
  • Marta Iglesias Émbil — head of product environmental affairs / R&D, SEAT, S.A.
  • Gian De Belder — technical director – packaging sustainability, Procter & Gamble
  • Virginia Janssens — MD, Plastics Europe
  • Yvonne van Veen — head of advocacy, INEOS
  • Ermis Panagiotopoulos — business development manager, Indorama
  • Manfred Hackl — CEO, EREMA Group

Core sessions will address restoring competitiveness in European plastics recycling, and implementing EU regulatory frameworks to ensure fair competition. Discussions will also focus on turning policy ambitions into practical implementation and creating investment conditions that support innovation and growth.

Other sessions will examine market opportunities and challenges across different sectors to unlock further circularity potential. Polyurethane recycling appears on the PRS Europe agenda for the first time with Michel Baumgartner, director general of Europur, as a featured speaker.

Panel discussions will explore topics including innovation-driven investment, driving sustainable demand through voluntary pledges, securing predictable recycling feedstock supply, eliminating structural greenwashing, and the importance of traceability for global plastics trade.

The programme also includes the annual Plastics Recycling Awards Europe ceremony.

PRS Europe sponsors will give papers on a range of innovations in plastics recycling technology and the circular economy. ExxonMobil and NGR World are gold event sponsors while silver sponsors include: Eastman, FIMIC, Axens, SK Functional Polymer (SKFP), Schneider, Indaver, Trinseo, SACMI, Lindner and VTT Research Finland.
