MACFARLANE Packaging has announced it has introduced the PadPak Guardian 30 from Ranpak, a paper cushioning system designed to meet the demands of medium to high-volume packing operations.
The protective packaging solution is aimed at businesses shipping more than 50 boxes per day. It delivers both 1-ply and 2-ply paper cushioning and is said to support the widest range of paper types, including Ranpak’s premium Kraft, recycledKraft, and Ecoline papers. This makes it suitable for applications ranging from light cushioning for large and extra-large products, as well as medium to heavy-duty protection.
The system uses 30-inch fanfold paper and is compatible with table delivery, batching operations, and full packing line integrations. Macfarlane explained that easy loading and splicing help reduce reloading frequency, while its ‘robust’ design ensures reliable performance in demanding environments.
The Guardian 30 features intuitive controls and one system can deliver cushioning pads for multiple applications. The solution also supports sustainability goals by enabling customers to transition from foam-in-place and plastic void fill to paper-based recyclable cushioning solutions.
Chris Machin, head of category at Macfarlane Packaging, said, “The addition of Ranpak’s PadPak Guardian 30 further strengthens Macfarlane’s portfolio of paper cushioning systems. Customers are increasingly looking for solutions that improve efficiency while reducing environmental impact. The Guardian 30 does exactly that. It offers a highly adaptable paper-based cushioning solution that helps customers protect their products, optimise their packing processes, and support their sustainability goals.”
