KONICA Minolta Business Solutions (UK) will open the doors of its Client Engagement Centre (CEC) in Houghton Regis to welcome Year 8 students from local schools for its annual TechGirls event on November 20.

The day is dedicated to inspiring young women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM).

Building on the success of last year’s Ada Lovelace Day celebration, the 2025 event continues Konica Minolta’s commitment to increasing female representation in the tech industry and supporting the local community. The initiative is part of the company’s broader diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy, which includes 2030 targets such as reducing the gender pay gap to zero and achieving gender parity in leadership and recruitment.

This year’s programme includes a panel talk hosted by TechGirls, featuring senior leaders and role models from Konica Minolta, including Leigh Jolly (change & information security lead); Rachel Lake (field service delivery manager); Kathryn Lloyd (sales account manager); and Holly Clark (a former apprentice recently appointed as financial planning & analyst). They will share personal insights and career journeys to help students envision their own futures in STEM.

Students will tour the CEC, explore the types of STEM careers available in the print and technology sectors, and take part in a creative workshop where they will design posters promoting women in STEM. These will be printed using Konica Minolta’s production print devices, and each student will receive a specially embellished chocolate box produced on-site.
