Watering can pack innovation earns Hunter Luxury further award recognition

Watering can packaging for gin brand

HUNTER Luxury is celebrating success at the UK Packaging Awards after winning one category and achieving two Highly Commended titles.

The firm was recognised for its work on the Hendrick’s gin Whimsical Watering Can, in collaboration with brand owner William Grant & Sons and Boundless Brand Design. The project won the Limited Edition Pack of the Year prize and was Highly Commended in the Best International Pack category. Meanwhile, Hunter Luxury’s collaboration with Chivas Brothers and design agency JDO Global for The Glenlivet brand on an anodised aluminium display case finished with brushed copper was also Highly Commended in the Luxury Pack of the Year category.

The Whimsical Watering Can utilised an ornate, all-metal, fully functional watering can as secondary packaging. The watering can works as both a quirky cocktail decanter, novel display piece, or as an actual watering can that consumers can use to grow their own botanicals.

The win is the latest in a string of successes for the project, after it picked up prizes at the Pentawards, the International Spirits Challenge Awards, and the Frontier Awards earlier this year.

Paul Hamilton, head of sales and marketing at Hunter Luxury, said, “I’m so proud of the creative talents of our team and our partners at Boundless. To develop this outlandish vision and refine it into an impactful, market-ready packaging solution is a remarkable achievement from everyone involved. I want to thank the team at Boundless for their collaboration and their trust in our ability to bring their creative vision to life.

“I also want to highlight how rewarding it is to win this award in such a competitive category. The standard was superb across the board, and I’m proud to be part of such a thriving luxury packaging industry that is constantly raising the bar.”

Hunter Luxury’s award win was one of the highlights of the 20th annual UK Packaging Awards ceremony, held at the Hilton Park Lane in the West End of London. The show was hosted by TV personality and comedian Paul Sinha.
