Spray decoration service helps brands to stand out

Spirits bottle featuring spray decoration

BEATSON Clark has responded to growing demand for customisation within the spirits sector by launching a spray decoration service.

The firm, which has been making bottles for over 270 years, can now spray glass packaging of any colour and achieve ‘dazzling’ effects such as opaque, frosted, glitter, vignette, and pearlescent.

Beatson Clark can decorate containers provided by the customer as well as its own range of bottles and jars, subject to suitability.

While white flint glass is most commonly associated with whisky and spirits, dark amber glass is a desirable alternative. Brands such as Dutch Barn Vodka have chosen amber for their bespoke bottles. Beatson Clark explained the dark, indulgent colour of the glossy amber glass imparts a premium look to spirit bottles, while the company’s amber glass has recently been made even darker to enhance its protective characteristics against UV light.

Beatson Clark has an in-house creative design team and offers a complete end-to-end service, from initial concept to manufacture and decoration.

The company added that its award-winning design team specialise in sculpted embossing, and using the latest software they can ensure that even with the most complex designs the embossing is ‘perfectly defined’.

Sustainability is also a key focus. Beatson Clark explained its glass containers are made with high levels of recycled content as standard, averaging 56% for amber and 36% for white flint. Any waste glass created during the manufacturing process is also recycled back into the furnace.
