Sidel unveils square bottle design for still water with liquid nitrogen dosing

Square bottle design

SIDEL has launched Nitro Square, a new square bottle design for still water with liquid nitrogen dosing.

The bottle’s structure is said to balance rigid sections with flexible, pressure-absorbing surfaces to ensure the square shape is retained while offering ‘new, creative and eye-catching’ designs.

“The nitrogen-dosed water bottle market is largely dominated by cylindrical forms, as this is the natural shape created by the internal pressure of the bottle’s contents,” said Xavier Monnier packaging innovation polymer expert. “Nitro Square allows manufacturers to elevate their brands with a unique square design that stands out on the shelf, secures its shape and performance across the supply chain and is valid for rPET.”

The bottle features Sidel’s wave-shaped StarLITE®-R Nitro base that the firm said ‘reinforces its appeal and performance while ensuring stability and drop resistance’.

Integration is described as ‘straightforward’ with existing Sidel solutions, including Universal, Series 2, and EvoBLOW machines, enabling production speeds of up to 2,600 bottles per hour per mould.
