CANPACK Group and P. Wilkinson Containers & William Say & Co. took the top awards in the ‘Metal Pack of the Year’ categories, sponsored by Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association (MPMA), at the UK Packaging Awards 2025.
CANPACK Group’s ‘8.6 Original – Tattoo Limited Edition’ can triumphed in the ‘Metal Pack of the Year – High Volume Food and Beverage’ category, with Ardagh Metal awarded Highly Commended for its ‘Thatchers Juicy Apple’ can.
The ‘8.6 Original Tattoo’ cans, created to celebrate the art of tattooing, uses CANPACK Group’s Quadromix technology to deliver graphics with shelf impact. This approach allows brands to print up to four different can designs in a single production run and is said to be particularly useful for creating limited-edition packaging that enhances consumer engagement and brand storytelling.
P. Wilkinson Containers & William Say’s ‘Knoops Hot Chocolate Tin’ took top spot for ‘Metal Pack of the Year – Promotional, Decorative & General Line’ with Emballator UK Ltd receiving Highly Commended for the ‘Fleetwood Colour Perfect’ can.
P. Wilkinson Containers & William Say’s digitally-printed metal container used digital technology to achieve an intricate texture simulation with high-definition detailing, complemented by a ‘modern minimalist design’. This innovation is designed to allow for lower costs and quicker lead times.

The winners were announced at a ceremony in London. The Metal Pack of the Year awards were presented by Jason Galley, director and chief executive of MPMA, alongside host, TV personality Paul Sinha.
Jason Galley said, “The UK Packaging Awards continue to be a key platform for MPMA to recognise how our UK sector is pioneering innovation in design and functionality for brands – redefining what metal packaging can deliver. At the same time, our awards celebrate the circularity of metal packaging and how UK metal packagers and their partner brands are not only innovating but championing environmental responsibility.”
