PRINT finishing equipment manufacturer A B Graphic International (ABG) has launched a new dual-laser configuration described as setting fresh digital laser cutting benchmarks.
DigiLase Duo, developed in collaboration with a customer, incorporates two independent laser light sources instead of one. ABG said the system achieves up to twice the speed of a single-laser unit, delivering double the productivity and reducing reliance on a single light source.
One innovation within the system is ‘Repeat Flow’, which allows for the automated switching of die lines within each web repeat, without creating waste or operator input. This is said to be ‘ideal’ for unique and short-run sheet applications.
The DigiLase Duo also aims to support customers in improving sustainability, with ABG’s ‘ABG Connect’ workflow designed to ensure job changes ‘create minimal waste, reduce material loss, and support leaner, more environmentally conscious operations’.
Mark Norman, ABG’s technical director, said, “The DigiLase Duo is the result of listening to our customers and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with digital laser cutting and in-house software development. By introducing dual independent lasers, we’ve been able to deliver exceptional gains in speed, flexibility and reliability, while also helping customers to minimise waste. It’s a significant step forward in digital finishing technology.”
ABG will showcase the DigiLase Duo at Labelexpo Europe 2025, taking place from 16–19 September 2025 at Fira de Barcelona – Gran Via.
