‘Striking’ new labels help mix things up for company’s rebrand

Mixer bottles with new labels

THE Label Makers has revealed details of its work with mixer brand Double Dutch to produce ‘striking’ new labels as part of the company’s rebrand.

The refreshed branding aims to elevate the brand’s ‘premium’ positioning and create packaging that is ‘modern, distinctive and impactful’, whether on-shelf or behind the bar.

Working with packaging design specialist Boundless, Double Dutch set out to deliver a new look that captures attention and improves functionality for trade customers. Once the designs were finalised, The Label Makers brought them to life in print. A key part of the relaunch also included increasing carbonation levels by a further 15%.

“We’re absolutely thrilled with the final result,” said Double Dutch co-founder, Raissa De Haas. “The new labels bring our brand to life in a more contemporary way, while retaining the colour and brand cues our customers know and love. They’ve really exceeded our expectations in terms of vibrancy, finish and overall impact.”

Ben Robinson, sales director at The Label Makers, added, “We had a lot of fun working on the redesign project, with The Label Makers and Double Dutch teams working extremely closely together – we’ll miss our weekly Teams calls! The premium nature of the label, with gold foil and emboss embellishments, played perfectly into the capabilities of our MPS presses, ensuring a smooth print process.”

Technical challenges which had to be overcome included around bottle specifications, colour consistency, and ensuring print quality across different materials and finishes. The Label Makers provided multiple rounds of sampling to ensure the labels achieved the desired look and feel.

Double Dutch is rolling out its new bottles globally and supporting the launch with campaigns across on-trade and digital channels.
