TEMPERATURE-controlled packaging specialist Hydropac has appointed Kimon Konakoglou as head of research & development.
The move is designed to support the firm’s continued growth and innovation and follows consecutive months of ‘surging’ demand from food logistics, meal prep, e-commerce, and pharmaceutical sectors.
To support this trajectory, Hydropac revealed it has expanded its leadership team and operational capacity, including new shift patterns and sector-specific product line enhancements.
“The cold chain logistics market is evolving fast, with sustainability, efficiency, and technology now absolute priorities,” said MD Colin Rowland. “Weâre building a team equipped to meet the future of cold chain logistics head-on. Kimon brings outstanding expertise that will be instrumental in scaling our business and keeping us ahead of the curve.”
Kimon, who has a Masters in material science and engineering, will take charge of Hydropacâs R&D function and focus on refining and expanding the product portfolio.
His appointment comes as the cold chain logistics sector faces mounting pressure to reduce environmental impact while maintaining product integrity.
